Graduating high school seniors from eligible high schools in Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia are invited to apply for awards of up to $5,000 each from sixteen named scholarship funds.
The Pittsburgh Foundation provides scholarship opportunities for students to pursue their educational goals. Scholarships are available for graduating high school seniors, undergraduates, graduate, medical and professional school students who are attending community colleges, four–year universities, graduate schools, and career/technical schools.
The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.
Applicants will complete one application for consideration for all the scholarship funds under The Pittsburgh Foundation Single Year Awards – Group 2.

Applicants will apply to The Pittsburgh Foundation Single Year Awards – Group 2. One common application is completed to apply to any of the below funds. Applicants must meet the following criteria and the criteria of one or more of the scholarships listed. Only one application is needed:

Total distribution and the amount of each award for each fund shall be determined by The Pittsburgh Foundation.
Applicants may receive more than one award. Each recipient may not receive more than $10,000 total in awards (per application).
Awards are for undergraduate study.
Awards are one-time only and are not renewable.
All applicants will be notified in late June.
Notifications are sent via email. When setting up your account, avoid using a school or work email. Instead, use an active, personal email address that you will continue to have access to.

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of The Pittsburgh Foundation. Payment is made in early August.
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:
Financial need, as calculated by Scholarship America, will be considered.
If an award requires or prefers applicants who demonstrate financial need, a one-time honorarium award of $2,500 may be granted to those who do not demonstrate financial need or who do not provide financial information.
Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of The Pittsburgh Foundation play a part in the selection. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
