The Toro Company Scholarship Program

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Eligibility

Applicants to the The Toro Company Scholarship Program must be:

  • Dependent* children of active full-time regular employees of The Toro Company or its subsidiaries in the U.S., Australia, Belgium, China, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Poland, Romania, Singapore or the United Kingdom have a minimum of one year of service as of the application deadline date.
  • High school seniors or final year upper secondary school students, high school/upper secondary graduates or current undergraduates who plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.

*Dependent children are defined as natural and legally adopted children or stepchildren living in the employee’s household or primarily supported by the employee.

Awards

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive an award ranging from $1,000 to $4,000.

For U.S. recipients: Financial need will be considered in determining the amount and renewability of each award. Potential recipients who do not demonstrate need, or who are dependents of employees who are at the Senior Manager level or above, will be eligible to receive an honorarium at the minimum amount of $1,000. Students who have received an honorarium may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

For recipients outside the U.S.: Awards for recipients in Mexico will be $2,000 (renewable). Awards for recipients outside of the U.S. and Mexico will be $2,500 (renewable). Financial need is not considered.

Note: For the purposes of recipient selection and award determination, the applicant’s county is determined by the employee parent’s TTC location.

Unless an honorarium, awards may be renewed for up to three additional years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first. Renewal is contingent upon satisfactory academic performance in a full-time course of study, continued employment, or the retirement of, the student’s parent at The Toro Company, and continuation of the program.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

A student may receive only one award from any scholarship affiliated with The Toro Company.

Notification

Applicants will be notified in March. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.

Notifications are sent via email. When setting up your account, avoid using a school or work email. Instead, use an active, personal email address that you will continue to have access to.

Please make sure to add studentsupport@scholarshipamerica.org as well as the program email address as safe senders in your email contact list.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of The Toro Company. Payments are made in one installment in early August. Award payments to international students will be issued by wire transfer in September.
