Mike and Tami Hoffman have established a scholarship program for The Toro Company employees or their dependent children who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.
Since 2018, Mike and Tami Hoffman have established a scholarship program to assist dependent children of active full-time employees of the Toro Company who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.
The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.
Applicants to the Mike and Tami Hoffman Scholarship Program must be:
*Dependent children are defined as natural and legally adopted children or stepchildren living in the employee’s household or primarily supported by the employee.
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive an award ranging from $1,000 to $4,000.
For U.S. recipients: Financial need will be considered in determining the amount and renewability of each award. Potential recipients who do not demonstrate need, or who are dependents of employees who are at the Senior Manager level or above, will be eligible to receive an honorarium at the minimum amount of $1,000. Students who have received an honorarium may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.
For recipients outside the U.S.: Awards for recipients in Mexico will be $2,000 (renewable). Awards for recipients outside of the U.S. and Mexico will be $2,500 (renewable). Financial need is not considered.
Note: For the purposes of recipient selection and award determination, the applicant’s county is determined by the employee parent’s TTC location.
Unless an honorarium, awards may be renewed for up to three additional years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first. Renewal is contingent upon satisfactory academic performance in a full-time or part-time course of study, parent’s ongoing employment at The Toro Company, and continuation of the program by The Toro Company and Mike and Tami Hoffman.
Awards are for undergraduate study only.
A student may only receive one award from any scholarship affiliated with The Toro Company.
Applicants will be notified in March. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.
Notifications are sent via email. When setting up your account, avoid using a school or work email. Instead, use an active, personal email address that you will continue to have access to.
Please make sure to add studentsupport@scholarshipamerica.org as well as the program email address as safe senders in your email contact list.
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Mike and Tami Hoffman. Payments are made in one installment in early August. Award payments to international students will be issued by wire transfer in September.
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:
Academic evaluation of international applicants will include a review of the grade/mark average based on the grading system used in the applicant’s country and a review of the results of academic examinations.
Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance do Mike and Tami Hoffman or any officer or employee of The Toro Company play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
Mike and Tami Hoffman reserve the right to review the conditions and procedures of this scholarship program and to make changes at any time including termination of the program.
