Is my donation tax-deductible?
Yes. Scholarship America is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN: 04-2296967). All gifts are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law. You’ll receive a receipt by email after your donation is processed.
How much of my gift reaches students?
92 cents of every dollar donated goes directly to student scholarships and programs. Just 3% covers administrative costs — well below the nonprofit industry average of 15–20%.
Can I cancel or change my monthly gift?
Absolutely — you’re in control. You can increase, decrease, pause, or cancel your monthly gift at any time by accessing your Donor Portal or emailing us at giving@scholarshipamerica.org.
Can I give in honor or memory of someone?
Yes. Memorial and tribute gifts are a meaningful way to honor someone special. We’ll notify the family and can establish a named scholarship fund for gifts of $10,000 or more.
Does my employer match charitable donations?
Many do! Employer matching can double or even triple your impact at no extra cost to you. Check with your HR department or use our matching gift lookup tool on the donation form.
How quickly is my donation put to work?
Funds are allocated to scholarship programs within 30 days of receipt. Emergency aid grants can be distributed within 72 hours for students facing immediate financial crises.
