The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility

Applicants to The Anne Vaughan Memorial Scholarship Program must meet all of the following criteria:

    8. Enos Paul Vaughan
    9. Iris (Vaughan) Morris
    10. Ralph Pearce Vaughan

*Descendants need to be blood-related. Those who have been adopted into the family will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
  • Be high school seniors or graduates or current postsecondary undergraduates or graduate/doctorate level students.
  • Plan to enroll in full-time, half-time, or part-time undergraduate or graduate/doctoral study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year. All coursework must be toward a degree or certificate.

Awards

Up to 3 new awards will be granted. If selected as a recipient, the student will receive an award based on their school and enrollment status, as indicated below:

School Type Tuition/Fees Books/Supplies Room/Board Stipend
4-Year School or Graduate School, Full-time $16,000 $2,500 (first year)
$1,500 (all other years)
$10,000
4-Year School or Graduate School, Part-time $8,000 $1,500 (first year)
$500 (all other years)
2-Year School, Full-time $8,000 $2,500 (first year)
$1,500 (all other years)
$10,000
2-Year School, Part-time $4,000 $1,500 (first year)
$500 (all other years)

The awards for tuition and fees will be issued by check, made payable to the college/university. The books/supplies and room/board stipends will be issued by check, made payable to the student. Students will be issued a 1099 for the amount of their books/supplies stipend and room/board stipend.

Awards may be renewed for up to three additional years or until a degree is earned. If a student continues directly into further study following completion of their undergraduate degree, they may renew their award. In the case of a student choosing to take time off between undergraduate and further study, they would no longer be eligible for renewal but could reapply to the program when beginning further study. Additional studies may include graduate, doctoral, or vocational programs.

Renewal is contingent upon maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale or the equivalent in a full-time or part-time course of study. All graduate/doctorate degree majors will be subject for review.

Notification

Applicants will be notified in May. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Notifications are sent via email. When setting up your account, avoid using a school or work email. Instead, use an active, personal email address that you will continue to have access to.

Please make sure to add studentsupport@scholarshipamerica.org as well as the program email address as safe senders in your email contact list.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Anne Vaughan’s Education Trust. Payment is made (one check payable to the school, and one to the recipient) in early August.

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic performance
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Honors
  • Work experience
  • Statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances

Financial need is not considered.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any descendant or family member of Anne Vaughan’s Education Trust play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Requirements

As part of your application, you must upload the following document:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display:
    • Student name
    • School name
