Scholarship America issues payments on behalf of The Timken Company Charitable and Educational Fund, Inc. for the Timken Global Scholars Program.
$10,000 awards for U.S. and Canada recipients will be paid in one installment in August. Awards for U.S. and Canada recipients greater than $10,000 will be paid in two installments in August and December. Awards are to be used for qualified education-related expenses and may not exceed the cost of tuition, fees, books, and required supplies, as defined by the college or university you choose to attend during the academic year.
International awards are paid by wire in one installment no earlier than August, once all required materials have been submitted. Award amounts may be reduced if the award exceeds the documented cost of tuition, fees, books, supplies required by your school for coursework, and on-campus or off-campus housing, including student’s portion of rent but not including living with family. If the total of those expenses is less than the maximum award amount, a student may request a one-time technology reimbursement of up to $2,000 (not renewable).
If the college or university requires that you participate in a co-op as part of its degree program, the award will be deferred during the terms you are working and continue again beginning with the term the student resumes full-time enrollment.
