SCI America has established a scholarship program to assist current undergraduate students pursuing a degree related to the chemical industry.
The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.
Applicants to the SCI America Scholarship Program must:
*Eligible majors include: Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Chemistry, Biochemistry, Toxicology, Industrial Chemistry, Material Science, Sustainable/Renewable Energy, Environmental Science/Engineering (chemistry-based), Agricultural Chemistry, Chemical Technology
Immediate family members of SCI America staff or Board members are ineligible.
SAI will accept up to 100 applications for the Program.
Up to 5 awards of $5,000 each will be granted.
Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.
Awards are for undergraduate study only.
All applicants will be notified in early April.
Notifications are sent via email. When setting up your account, avoid using a school or work email. Instead, use an active, personal email address that you will continue to have access to.

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of SCI America. Payment is made in early August.
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:
*Essay Topic: Describe a specific experience: A classroom experiment, a scientific article, or a personal observation that sparked your passion for chemistry or chemical engineering. How did this experience confirm your decision to pursue this field?
Financial need is not considered.
Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of SCI America play a part in the selection. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.
