Entergy Power Your Future Scholarship

The Entergy Power Your Future Scholarship is providing $2,500 – $5,000 scholarships to up to 30 students attending participating two- or four-year colleges or universities throughout Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas.

Entergy Power Your Future Scholarship

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Eligibility

Applicants to the Entergy Power Your Future Scholarship Program must:

  • Have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent)
  • Be a current college undergraduate sophomore, junior, or senior in an eligible technology major*
    *Eligible majors include but are not limited to: Cloud Computing, Communication Networks and Security, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Engineering Technology, Information Systems, Information Technology, and AI programs.
  • Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at one of the following accredited HBCU four-year universities for the entire upcoming academic year
    • Louisiana: Dillard University, Southern University and A&M College, Southern University at New Orleans, Xavier University, Grambling State University
    • Arkansas: UA-Pine Bluff, Philander Smith College
    • Mississippi: Alcorn State University, Jackson State University, Mississippi Valley State University, Rust College, Tougaloo College, Coahoma Community College
    • Texas: Texas Prairie View A&M University, University of Houston, Sam Houston State University, Texas Southern University
  • OR

  • Be pursuing a degree in Process Technology
  • Plan to enroll in part-time or full-time undergraduate study at one of the following accredited two-year or vocational-technical colleges for the entire upcoming academic year
    • Louisiana: Baton Rouge Community College, Delgado Community College
    • Arkansas: UA – Pulaski Technical College, Southeast Arkansas College
    • Mississippi: Coahoma Community College, Hinds Community College
    • Texas: Lamar Institute of Technology, Lamar State College – Port Arthur

Entergy Corporation employees and their immediate family members are ineligible.

Awards

Up to ten (10) awards of $5,000 each will be granted to students attending four-year colleges, and up to twenty (20) award of $2,500 each will be granted to students attending two-year colleges.

Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Recipients may apply for future internships and/or employment opportunities with Entergy Corporation.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in June.

Notifications are sent via email. When setting up your account, avoid using a school or work email. Instead, use an active, personal email address that you will continue to have access to.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Entergy Corporation. Payment is made in August.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic performance
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • A statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances

Financial need is not considered.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Entergy Corporation play a part in the selection. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Requirements

As part of your application, you must upload the following:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display:
    • Student name
    • School name
    • Grades
    • Credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.

Your application is not complete unless all required materials are submitted electronically.
