Pepsi National Battle of the Bands Scholarship Powered by the PepsiCo Foundation

PepsiCo Foundation has established a scholarship program to assist current undergraduates at select colleges/universities who are pursuing a bachelor’s degree in various majors and are currently active musicians in the college/university’s band.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Eligibility

Applicants to the Pepsi National Battle of the Bands Scholarship Powered by the PepsiCo Foundation must:

  • Be current undergraduates attending one of the following colleges/universities and plan to be enrolled full-time during the 2025 – 2026 academic year:
    • Alabama A&M, AL
    • Albany State, GA
    • Florida A&M, FL
    • Jackson State, MS
    • Langston University, OK
    • North Carolina A&T, NC
    • Prairie View A&M, TX
    • Texas Southern University, TX
  • Have a minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent)
  • Be a currently active student member in the college/university band
  • Be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in any of the following majors: Computer Science, Technology, Arts, Engineering, Mathematics, Communications, Business, Agriculture/Farming, Political Science, Economics

Children of PepsiCo, Inc. or Sponsor employees are ineligible.

Awards

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a minimum award amount of $5,750. Up to 40 awards will be granted.

Awards to applicants are one-time only. Past recipients may not reapply.

Awards for applicants are for undergraduate study only. Awards to applicants can be used for any education-related expenses.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in November.

Notifications are sent via email. When setting up your account, avoid using a school or work email. Instead, use an active, personal email address that you will continue to have access to.

Please make sure to add studentsupport@scholarshipamerica.org as well as the program email address as safe senders in your email contact list.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of PepsiCo Foundation. Payment is made in January.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic performance
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • A statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • A statement of leadership demonstration (in the band or on campus) and/or community service (1,000 characters/150-200 words)
  • Financial need

If the applicant pool allows five (5) awards will be granted to the top applicants from each college/university.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Pepsico Foundation play a part in the selection. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Requirements

As part of your application, you must upload the following:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display:
    • Student name
    • School name
    • Grades
    • Credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.
  • Copy of the first two pages of the most recently filed IRS Form 1040 used for the Financial Information section of the application. Please black out all social security numbers and bank account information.

Your application is not complete unless all required materials are submitted electronically.
