Nestlé R&D Center, Inc. has established a scholarship program to assist employees’ children who plan to continue education in college or vocational school programs.

Nestlé R&D Center, Inc. has established a scholarship program to assist employees’ children who plan to continue education in college or vocational school programs. Renewable scholarships are offered each year for full-time undergraduate study at an accredited institution of the student’s choice.
The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.
Eligibility
Applicants to the Nestlé R&D Scholarship Program must be:
- Dependent children of regular full-time and part-time Nestlé R&D employees, including Expats/Inpats, who have a minimum of one year of employment with the company as of the application deadline date. Children of retired and deceased employees are also eligible.
*Dependent children are defined as natural and legally adopted children or stepchildren or legal wards living in the employee’s household or primarily supported by the employee. - High school seniors or graduates who plan to enroll or students who are already enrolled in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school in the U.S. for the entire upcoming academic year.
Applicants can receive only one scholarship from Nestlé or one of its affiliates during any one school year. Nestlé scholarship recipients may accept additional scholarships from other sources.
Awards
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive an award ranging from $1,000 to $4,000.
Awards may be renewed for up to three additional years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first. Renewal is contingent upon the recipient maintaining the following:
- Full-time enrollment (typically a course load of at least 12 credits per academic period)
- A grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale each term. Grades are not cumulative.
- Continued parental employment
Awards are for undergraduate study only.
Notification
All applicants will be notified in mid May.
Notifications are sent via email. When setting up your account, avoid using a school or work email. Instead, use an active, personal email address that you will continue to have access to.
Please make sure to add studentsupport@scholarshipamerica.org as well as the program email address as safe senders in your email contact list.
Payment of Scholarships
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Nestlé R&D Center, Inc. Payment is made in early August.
Checks are mailed to each recipient’s home address and made payable to the school for the student.
Selection of Recipients
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:
- Academic performance
- Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
- Work experience
- A statement of educational and career goals and objectives
- Unusual personal or family circumstances
- An online recommendation
Financial need will be considered. Once recipients are selected, financial need is reviewed to determine the amount of each award. Recipients who do not demonstrate financial need or whose parents choose not to supply the requested financial information will be eligible to receive an award at the minimum amount.
Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Nestlé R&D Center, Inc. play a part in the selection. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
Requirements
As part of your application, you must upload the following:
- A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display:
- Student name
- School name
- Grades
- Credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.
NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.
One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than three business days after the application deadline date.
Your application is not complete unless all required materials are submitted electronically.
