The Newe Numa Scholarship Foundation has established a scholarship program.
The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

This application submission window is for Fall 2025 term only.
Apply now on this application for fall 2025 term. Approved, eligible students who apply on this application will receive a check payable to the student for fall term 2025.
Your completed application must be submitted electronically by the deadline date May 29, 2026 3:00 pm Central Time (1:00 pm Pacific Time). Late applications are not accepted.

The residency requirement for educational support from Nevada Gold Mines for a non-enrolled applicant with one parent who is an enrolled member of a partner community will be waived if the applicant has moved out of the reservation or service area of a partner community:
There is no age limit on eligibility.
1Applicants affiliated with the Battle Mountain Band of the Te-Moak Tribe of Western Shoshone who are eligible based upon the eligibility criteria defined above will receive scholarships identical to NNSF scholarships, but the funds for these scholarships will be provided directly by Nevada Gold Mines. Battle Mountain Band applicants must follow the same application process and associated requirements, selection criteria, and award levels will be the same.

There is no age limit on eligibility, however, scholarships may only be offered to applicants seeking to enhance their employment opportunities/career prospects and/or their ability to perform a service needed by their community.
Purpose of the program
To encourage and support Western Shoshone community members from Nevada Gold Mines’ partner communities to pursue and complete university/college educational programs in career fields in the mining industry and to join Nevada Gold Mines’ operations as employees.
Eligibility Pool
Current Newe Numa Scholarship Foundation (NNSF) award recipients who maintain eligibility for the NNSF awards for every semester/term for which the Nevada Gold Mines “Gold” Mining Scholarship is offered.

Applicants who receive funding from the Newe Numa Scholarship Foundation will be screened for eligibility for the Nevada Gold Mines “Gold” Mining Scholarship. No additional application or documents are required.
Payment of Support
Award check(s) will be payable to the student and mailed to the student’s home address.
