The Michael Lewis Company has established an education assistance program to assist children of U.S. full-time employees who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.
The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to the Michael Lewis Company Education Assistance Program must:
- Be dependent* children, of salary and hourly full-time U.S. employees who have a minimum of 1 year employment with the company as of the application deadline date.
*Dependent children are defined as biological, step- or legally adopted children living in the employee’s household or primarily supported by the employee. - Be high school seniors or graduates, or current postsecondary undergraduates, who plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.
- Have a minimum grade point average of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent).
- Have a record of 20 or more hours of community service in the 12 months prior to the application deadline.
Awards
All applicants who meet the eligibility requirements will receive an award. Education assistance awards of $1,500 each will be granted to dependents whose parent has a minimum of 1 year full-time employment with the company as of the application deadline date.
Education assistance awards of $3,000 each will be granted to dependents whose parent has a minimum of 5 years full-time employment with the company as of the application deadline date.
Awards are not renewable; however, students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements. Five awards lifetime maximum, not to exceed $15,000 per recipient.
Awards are for undergraduate study only.
Notification
Applicants will be notified in April.
Notifications are sent via email. When setting up your account, avoid using a school or work email. Instead, use an active, personal email address that you will continue to have access to.

Payment of Scholarships
Scholarship America will process the education assistance awards on behalf of the Michael Lewis Company. Education assistance awards are paid directly to the school in mid-July to August. Awards are taxable to the parent employee of Michael Lewis Company, and Michael Lewis Company will gross up salary to cover taxes as reported on form W-2 or payroll.
Requirements
As part of your application, you must upload the following:
- A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display:
- Student name
- School name
- Grades
- Credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.
NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.
Your application is not complete unless all required materials are submitted electronically.
