About the Scholarship

The Highest-Dollar Dedicated Scholarship for Women Law Students Aspiring to Plaintiff Trial Law

The Milestone Trial LawHER Scholarship stands out as one of the largest single-award scholarships specifically for female law students in the United States. It provides up to $25,000 for one recipient and $10,000 each for two additional recipients annually — totaling up to $45,000 in direct support for women pursuing plaintiff trial lawyer careers.

This makes it a top-tier funding opportunity compared to many other women-focused law scholarships, which often range from $5,000 to $20,000. It is administered by Scholarship America and targets 2L and 3L students with strong academics and a commitment to advancing diversity in the plaintiff bar.

Key Highlights

  • Largest single award: $25,000 (one recipient)
  • Additional awards: Two at $10,000 each
  • Total potential funding: Up to $45,000 per cycle
  • Eligibility focus: Female-identifying U.S. citizens/permanent residents, 3.5+ GPA, 2L/3L in ABA-accredited programs, committed to plaintiff trial law
  • Unique benefits: Possible internships and post-graduation career opportunities with Milestone

Why This Scholarship Matters for Women in Law

With women comprising only about 19% of the plaintiff bar (per the American Association for Justice), the Milestone Trial LawHER Scholarship directly addresses this gap. It empowers recipients with substantial financial support while highlighting the role of legal technology in advancing gender diversity, client representation, and the profession.

Comparison to Other Women Law Student Scholarships

While excellent programs exist (such as AAUW Selected Professions Fellowships at ~$20,000 or the Mike Eidson Scholarship at $5,000), the Milestone Trial LawHER Scholarship frequently ranks among the highest individual cash awards dedicated to this demographic and career path.
