The Medline Scholarship Program

Medline has created a scholarship program to assist the dependent children of domestic Medline employees who are planning to further their education after high school.

This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

The student applicant should fill out all application materials NOT the parent/employee.

Eligibility

Applicants of The Medline Scholarship Program award must be:

  • Dependent* children, of full-time Medline domestic employees, who have a minimum of two years** of employment with the company as of the application deadline date.
  • High school seniors or graduates or current post-secondary undergraduates or graduate level students.
  • Planning to enroll full-time or part-time at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational school for the entire upcoming academic year.
  • From a family with an adjusted gross income of $200,000 or less.

*Dependent children are defined as biological, step- or legally adopted children living in the employee’s household or primarily supported by the employee and qualify as a federal tax exemption to the employees.

**Calculation of eligibility is based on the continuous service date, including employment with an acquired company or affiliate of Medline provided there is no break in service.

Awards

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive:

  • An award up to $4,000 full-time enrollment or $2,000 for part-time enrollment per school year. Up to ninety-five (95) new awards will be granted each year
  • Awards are renewable up to three consecutive years, on the basis of satisfactory academic performance maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
  • Awards are to be used for tuition, fees, books and supplies
  • Awards are for undergraduate, graduate study, and vocational-technical certificates

Notification

Applicants (the student applicant, not the Medline employee parent) will be notified by email in June. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.

Notifications are sent via email. When setting up your account, avoid using a school or work email. Instead, use an active, personal email address that you will continue to have access to.

Please make sure to add studentsupport@scholarshipamerica.org as well as the program email address as safe senders in your email contact list.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Medline. Scholarship checks will be made payable to the school and mailed to the student’s home address in early August.

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic record
  • Statement of goals and aspirations
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances

Financial need will be considered. Recipients must demonstrate need.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Medline play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

This is a competitive scholarship program not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.
