LPA Diversity in Design Scholarship Program

LPA, Inc. has established a scholarship program to champion the design professions among students from underrepresented demographics. We believe diversity and inclusion are essential to innovation, belonging, and representation. To that end, we aim to foster a culture where students feel that anything is possible regardless of their starting point. We want to grow, support, and mentor the recipients to attain their professional degree and advance the diversity of architecture and engineering disciplines that serve our communities and contribute to the built environment. We are looking for students who have an interest in pursuing careers that shape the built environment where people live, work, learn, and play.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

*Awards may be renewed for the fourth year for bonafide five-year undergraduate program upon sponsor review.

Renewal students are asked to answer one of the following questions (required):

  1. do you think design can help address climate change and make a positive difference in the world today?
  2. In your view, how can the design of the built environment influence or even change people’s everyday lives?

Student essay responses will be sent to Sponsor.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Recipients may also be offered a mentorship opportunity by Sponsor.
