Founders Scholarship Program

This program carries on the spirit of IEWC’s Founders, as well as the Founders of other great companies that have become part of the IEWC family.  Founders invested in their employees and provided opportunities for them and their families to find success and reach their full potential.  Over the past 25 years, this program has generously donated more than $830,000 to support family members of employees in their pursuit of higher education.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Eligibility

Applicants to the Founders Scholarship Program must:

  • Be children, stepchildren who live with the employee, or grandchildren, age 24 or under, or spouses of full-time U.S. or international IEWC employees who have a minimum of one year employment with the company as of the application deadline date.
  • U.S. Students: Applicants must be high school seniors or graduates who plan to enroll or students who are already enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate course of study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.
  • International and Canadian students: Applicants must be students in the final year of upper secondary school or upper secondary school graduates who plan to enroll or students who are already enrolled in full-time university level studies for the entire upcoming academic year.

Awards

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive an award ranging from $1,000 to $5,000.

Awards may be renewed for up to three additional years. Renewal is contingent upon satisfactory academic performance in a full-time course of study, continued employment of the student’s parent, stepparent, grandparent or spouse, and continuation of the program by IEWC Holdings Corp.

Awards are for undergraduate or graduate study.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in late July.

Notifications are sent via email. When setting up your account, avoid using a school or work email. Instead, use an active, personal email address that you will continue to have access to.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • A statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances
  • An online recommendation

Financial need, as calculated by Scholarship America, must be demonstrated for the student to receive an award.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of IEWC Holdings Corp play a part in the selection. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.  All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of IEWC Holdings Corp. Payment is made in early August.
