Through Huhtamaki Save The Dream Scholarship, employees’ dependents may receive financial assistance to help support their dreams of higher education.

Huhtamaki Save the Dream Scholarship Program

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Eligibility

Eligibility
Applicants to the Huhtamaki Save the Dream Scholarship Program must be:

  • Dependent* children, age 24 and under, of full-time non-union Huhtamaki, Inc. employees** as of the application deadline date who:
    • Earn $88,000 or less in base wages/salary (not inclusive of overtime and /or bonuses)***, and
    • Have a minimum of three (3) years of employment with the company as of the application
      deadline date.
  • High school seniors or graduates, or current postsecondary undergraduates, who plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.
  • Applicants must have a minimum 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale

*Dependent children are defined as natural and legally adopted children or stepchildren living in the employee’s household or primarily supported by the employee.

**Dependents of employees who passed away while working for Huhtamaki within the past 5 years and meet the eligibility requirements will be eligible to participate in the program.

***NEW IN 2025: If both parents are employed by Huhtamaki, Inc., the dependent is only eligible for the program if both parents are below the income limit.

Awards

  • Previous recipients of the Huhtamaki Save the Dream Scholarship Program do not need to reapply as this scholarship is renewable.
  • Up to 50% of eligible applicants will receive awards of $10,000 each.
  • Awards are renewable up to three years or until completion of a bachelor’s degree, whichever occurs first, on the basis of satisfactory academic performance (maintaining a 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale or its equivalent) and continued parental employment.
  • Awards are for undergraduate only.

Notification

Applicants will be notified in May.

Notifications are sent via email. When setting up your account, avoid using a school or work email. Instead, use an active, personal email address that you will continue to have access to.

Please make sure to add studentsupport@scholarshipamerica.org as well as the program email address as safe senders in your email contact list.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Huhtamaki, Inc. Payments are made in two installments in early August and late December.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic performance
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • A statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances
  • An online recommendation

Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Applicants selected as recipients will receive additional instructions to accept their award. Scholarship recipients are not eligible to receive an education assistance award in the same year. Students may reapply to the programs each year they meet eligibility requirements. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Requirements

As part of your application, you must upload the following:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display:
    • Student name
    • School name
    • Grades
    • Credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.

NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.

One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than March 23, 2026 by 3:00 pm Central Time.

Your application is not complete unless all required materials are submitted electronically.
