Henkel Corporation Scholarship Program

Renewable scholarships are offered each year for full-time study at an accredited institution of the student’s choice.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Eligibility

Applicants to the Henkel Corporation Scholarship Program must:

  • Be dependent* children of employees of Henkel Corporation and affiliated companies in the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico who work a minimum of twenty (20) hours per week and have a minimum one (1) year employment with the company by September 1 of the year the award is first issued. Employees covered under a collective bargaining agreement should refer to their CBA for details on their eligibility for this program. Employees must not be temporary, seasonal, co-op, or on temporary assignment. *Dependent children are defined as natural and legally adopted children or stepchildren living in the employee’s household or primarily supported by the employee.
  • Be current high school seniors, high school graduates, or college undergraduates who are enrolled or planning to enroll in a full-time course of study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school in or outside the United States for the entire upcoming academic year.
  • Have a minimum 2.5 grade point average (4.0 scale).

If selected as a recipient students must receive approval from Henkel if needing to defer their award. Standard requests include mission trips, personal medical conditions, death in the family, caring for siblings, and loss of parental or household income. Any other request will be at the discretion of Henkel. One deferral per recipient is allowed, and the length of deferral cannot exceed two years.

Awards

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $2,500 award.

Awards are renewable up to three (3) years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first, on the basis of satisfactory academic performance, full-time enrollment, and continued active parental employment. (“Active” means a person on full-time work status and does not include employees who resign, are terminated, or who are drawing severance.)

Students whose parents retire after the initial award is granted are eligible for renewal.

Awards are for tuition and academic fees only during undergraduate study.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic performance
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • Statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances
  • An online recommendation

Financial need is not considered.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Henkel Corporation play a part in the selection. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Obligations

Recipients have no obligation to Henkel Corporation. They are, however, required to notify Scholarship America of any changes in address, school enrollment, or other relevant information and to send a complete transcript when requested.

Revisions

Henkel Corporation reserves the right to review the conditions and procedures of this scholarship program and to make changes at any time, including termination of the program.

Notification

All applicants will be notified by email in June.

Notifications are sent via email. When setting up your account, avoid using a school or work email. Instead, use an active, personal email address that you will continue to have access to.

Please make sure to add studentsupport@scholarshipamerica.org as well as the program email address as safe senders in your email contact list.
