Hampton Lumber Scholarship Fund

Hampton Lumber has established a scholarship program to assist children, grandchildren, and spouses/domestic partners of employees who plan to continue their education in pursuit of an undergraduate degree in college or in a vocational school program.

Hampton Lumber Scholarship Fund

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Eligibility

Applicants to the Hampton Lumber Scholarship Fund must be:

  • Qualified spouse/domestic partner*, dependent* children, under age 26, or grandchildren under age 26 of a part-time or full-time employee of Hampton Lumber and Subsidiaries who have a minimum of two years of employment with the company as of the application deadline.
  • High school seniors or graduates (inclusive of GED recipients and home-schooled students), or current postsecondary undergraduates, who plan to enroll in full-time or part-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.

Children, grandchildren, and spouses of shareholders or officers of Hampton Lumber: CEO, President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer are ineligible.

*Qualified spouse or domestic partner and dependent child will be consistent with qualification for other benefits provided by the company.

Award Information:

Up to 25 awards will be granted as follows:

  • $7,500 for Bachelor’s degree full-time
  • $5,000 for Bachelor’s degree part-time*
  • $5,000 for Associate’s degree full-time
  • $2,500 for Associate’s degree part-time*
  • $5,000 for Vocational-technical/certificate programs

*Part-time is generally defined as 6-11 credit hours.

Awards may be renewed for up to three additional years or until a degree/certificate is earned, whichever occurs first. Renewal is contingent upon satisfactory academic performance, continued employment of the student’s parent, grandparent, or spouse at Hampton Lumber. If a recipient changes their course of study to a different degree or school, they must reapply.

Awards are for undergraduate and vocational study only.

Notification

Applicants will be notified in July. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Notifications are sent via email. When setting up your account, avoid using a school or work email. Instead, use an active, personal email address that you will continue to have access to.

Please make sure to add studentsupport@scholarshipamerica.org as well as the program email address as safe senders in your email contact list.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Hampton Lumber. Payment is made in one installment in August payable to the college or school of the recipient and mailed to the recipient’s address of record. The award will be issued in U.S. currency.

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • Statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances
  • An online recommendation

Financial need is not considered.

Preference will be given to the following trade/technical fields:

  • Electrical
  • Mechanics
  • Welding
  • Machining
  • Millwright
  • Engineering
  • Carpentry
  • Building construction
  • Automotive
  • Office Administration
  • Accounting
  • Human resources
  • Business
  • Forestry
  • Manufacturing & industrial technology
  • Truck driving
  • Supply chain & logistics

Preference will also be given to students attending:

  • Centralia College
  • Perry Tech
  • Skagit Valley College
  • Portland Community College
  • Clatsop Community College
  • Tillamook Bay Community College
  • Chemeketa Community College
  • Linn-Benton Community College
  • College of New Caledonia

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Hampton Lumber play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Requirements

As part of your application, you must upload the following document:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.

    NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.

One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than June 4, 2026 at 3:00 PM Central Time.

Your application is not complete unless all required documents are submitted electronically through the Scholarship America Student Hub.
