W. R. Grace Foundation, Inc. Scholarship Program

The W. R. Grace Foundation is pleased to offer a scholarship program to assist children of employees in the U.S. and Canada who plan to continue their education at an accredited four-year college or university in the U.S. or Canada.

W. R. Grace Foundation, Inc. Scholarship Program

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Eligibility

Applicants to the W. R. Grace Foundation, Inc. Scholarship Program must:

  • Be dependent* children of active, full-time, U.S. or Canadian employees of W.R. Grace & Co. (Grace) or one of its majority-owned direct or indirect subsidiaries. The parent must be in the employ of W.R. Grace & Co.(or one of such subsidiaries thereof) as of April 30, 2026. Students who were granted a scholarship prior to the start of this current program cycle are not required to meet employment eligibility requirements with Grace.
    *Dependent children are defined as biological, step- or legally adopted children living in the employee’s household or primarily supported by the employee.
  • Be students in their final year of high school and planning to enroll in a full-time course of study at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States or Canada for the entire upcoming academic year. Students accepted to a military academy or who have begun their college career are not eligible. (Exception: In Quebec, Canada, applicants may enroll in a pre-university program at a college.)
  • U.S. students must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent). Canadian students must have a minimum grade point average of 67 on a 100 scale (or equivalent).

Children of elected Grace Corporate Officers at the level of Senior Vice President, President or above are ineligible.

Awards

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $2,000 award. Up to eight (8) awards will be granted. The amount of the award will be limited to tuition and required fees. Awards are renewable up to three years on the basis of satisfactory academic performance and full-time enrollment.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in June.

Notifications are sent via email. When setting up your account, avoid using a school or work email. Instead, use an active, personal email address that you will continue to have access to.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of W. R. Grace Foundation, Inc. Payment is made in one installment in early August.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, and an online recommendation by a person not affiliated with Grace, W. R. Grace Foundation, Inc. or Scholarship America.

Financial need is not considered. Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of W. R. Grace Foundation, Inc. play a part in the selection. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Requirements

As part of your application, you must upload the following:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display:
    • Student name
    • School name
    • Grades
    • Credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.
  • NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.

One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than three business days after the application deadline date.

Your application is not complete unless all required materials are submitted electronically.
