The Pamela J. Carter Future Nurses of Southern California Scholarship was established to assist students who plan to continue their education in college in LA or San Diego County and are pursuing a Nursing degree.
The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.
Pamela dedicated more than 40 years of her life to nursing, serving the Southern California community through her entire career at Kaiser Permanente, where she held numerous leadership roles and remained deeply committed to patient care and community well-being. Nursing was not simply her profession, it was her calling. She approached her work with compassion, integrity, and a genuine desire to uplift others, leaving a lasting impact on patients, colleagues, and the broader Los Angeles community.
After her passing from pancreatic cancer, this scholarship was established in her honor to reflect what she believed in most, creating hope for the future. By supporting aspiring nurses who share her commitment to caring for others, it carries forward her generous spirit, her lifelong devotion to service, and the enduring love she shared with her husband and family, ensuring that her legacy continues to inspire hope for generations to come.
