Del Norte LOV Foundation has established a scholarship program to assist eligible students in New Mexico who plan to continue their education in college.
Del Norte LOV Foundation Scholarship Program Associated with Del Norte Credit Union
Del Norte LOV Foundation associated with Del Norte Credit Union (DNCU) has established a scholarship program to assist local New Mexicans who are high school seniors, homeschool seniors, or GED* recipients who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs. Scholarships are offered each year for full-time study at an accredited institution of the student’s choice.
The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.
*GED must be received in the same year enrolled in higher education courses.

Eligibility
Applicants to the Del Norte LOV Foundation Scholarship Program Associated With Del Norte Credit Union must:
- Be a local New Mexico resident who is a high school senior, equivalent home-school senior, or a recipient of a GED received in same year of higher education enrollment.
- Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.
- Have a minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent).
Attention, GED students: Please update your Student Profile to indicate your Current Grade Level as High School Senior, and indicate 2026 for your high school completion year.
Awards
For 2025, the authorized distribution for awards is a total of $29,000 that includes: 7 (seven) awards at $1,000 with a minimum 2.5 grade point average (GPA) or its equivalent, 4 (four) awards at $3,000 with a minimum 3.5 GPA or its equivalent and 2 (two) awards at $5,000 with a minimum of 4.0 GPA or its equivalent. We’ve partnered with The Encantado Foundation to offer a $5,000 scholarship opportunity towards any recipient who pursues a STEM-related career path. Assuming sufficient qualified applications, these 13 (thirteen) awards will be granted to high school senior, equivalent home school senior, or a recipient of a GED received in same year of higher education enrollment.
Awards are for undergraduate study only.
Notification
All applicants will be notified in April.
Notifications are sent via email. When setting up your account, avoid using a school or work email. Instead, use an active, personal email address that you will continue to have access to.

Payment of Scholarships
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of the Del Norte LOV Foundation associated with DNCU in early August.
Selection of Recipients
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:
- Academic performance
- Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
- Work experience
- A statement of educational and career goals and objectives
- Unusual personal or family circumstances
- An online recommendation
Although not considered in the selection process, applicants are required to submit an essay that will be sent to Del Norte LOV Foundation for possible promotional purposes.
At a minimum, one awardee will be selected from each of the following counties in New Mexico: Los Alamos, Rio Arriba, Sandoval, and Santa Fe to ensure geographic diversity.
Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of the Del Norte LOV Foundation or DNCU play a part in the selection. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.
All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
Requirements
As part of your application, you must upload the following:
- A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display:
- Student name
- School name
- Grades
- Credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.
NOTE: SAT/ACT scores are not required. If applicant has not taken tests, please leave these fields blank on the application. If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately.
One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than March 3, 2026 3:00 PM Central Time. Please note Scholarship America® is located in Central Time and the 3:00 PM deadline incorporates this time zone and the availability of customer service.
