CSM Scholarship Program for Dependents
CSM has established a scholarship program to assist children of employees who plan to continue their education in vocational school or college.
CSM Scholarship Program for Dependents
The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.
Eligibility
An Eligible Employee must:
- Be in full-time status (per UKG); and
- Work for CSM Corporation or its participating affiliates (Company); and
- Have been employed for at least six months as of the application deadline date; and
- Remain employed by CSM Corporation or any of its affiliates, at the time the checks are awarded.
An Applicant must:
- Be a dependent* child, age 25 or younger, of an Eligible Employee; and
- Be high school seniors or graduates or current college undergraduates; and
- Plan to enroll full-time at an accredited vocational/technical school, two-year college, or four-year college or university for the entire upcoming academic year; and
- Have a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent).
*A dependent child is defined as a biological or legally adopted child or stepchild living in the employee’s household or primarily supported by the employee. A dependent child who is employed by the Company and whose parent works for the Company may not participate in both the Scholarship Program for Dependents and Education Assistance. In this situation, the dependent child is only eligible for Education Assistance.
Awards
- If selected as a recipient, the student will receive an award ranging from $1,000 to $2,500. Financial need will be considered in determining the amount of the award.
- Awards of $2,500 will be given to recipients who demonstrate financial need. These awards may be renewable up to three years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first, on the basis of satisfactory academic progress (maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale), continued parental employment and continued sponsorship by CSM.
- Recipients who do not demonstrate financial need will be awarded $1,000. These awards are one-time only awards and are not eligible for renewal.
- Special consideration will be given to students attending a two-year or vocational/technical school.
Awards are for undergraduate study only. Substantial financial changes in income will be considered on a case-by-case basis, an must be reviewed by CSM.
Notification
All applicants will be notified in June.
Notifications are sent via email. When setting up your account, avoid using a school or work email. Instead, use an active, personal email address that you will continue to have access to.
Payment of Scholarships
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of CSM. Payment is made in mid-August.
Selection of Recipients
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:
- Academic performance
- Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
- Work experience
- Statement of educational and career goals and objectives
- Unusual personal or family circumstances
Financial need will be considered in determining award amount.
Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of CSM play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final. Students not selected as recipients may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

As part of your application, you must upload the following document:

NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.
