CLA Foundation Opportunity Scholarship Program

The CLA Foundation Opportunity Scholarship Program seeks to identify and award America’s future leaders in finance, accounting, business and other emerging areas on study. Recipients will receive a one-time $15,000 scholarship to support their continuing undergraduate or graduate studies.

About the Scholarship

The CLA Foundation Opportunity Scholarship Program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Eligibility

Applicants to the CLA Foundation Opportunity Scholarship Program must:

  • Be high school seniors, high school graduates, current college undergraduates or graduate level students in the United States (U.S.) who plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate or graduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or graduate school for the entire upcoming academic year.
  • Be planning to pursue a degree in an industry related area of study related to CLA (CliftonLarsonAllen LLP). Areas of study include, but not limited to:
    • Accounting
    • Business
    • Finance
    • Other emerging areas of study including:
      • Data Science and Analytics
      • Cybersecurity
      • Human-Centered Design and User Experience (UX/UI)
      • Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
      • Legal Technology and Regulatory Compliance (RegTech)
      • Cognitive Science and Robotics
      • Communications and Digital Media
      • Ethics and Technology Management
  • Have a minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent)

CLA (CliftonLarsonAllen LLP) and CLA Foundation employees and children of employees, officers, and executives are ineligible.

Awards

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $15,000 award. Up to 75 awards will be granted.

Awards are for undergraduate and graduate study.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic performance
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • A statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances
  • An online recommendation

Financial need will be considered. Financial need, as calculated by Scholarship America, must be demonstrated.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in July.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments. Payment is made in early August.

Requirements

As part of your application, you must upload the following:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display:
    • Student name
    • School name
    • Grades
    • Credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.

NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.

One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than May 22, 2025 3:00 pm Central Time.

Your application is not complete unless all required materials are submitted electronically.
