The Bowman and Brooke Future Defense Lawyer Scholarship assists current first year (1L) law students who plan to continue their full-time enrollment at an ABA-accredited law school for their second (2L) academic year, and who possess a demonstrated interest in representing defendants in civil litigation matters.
Bowman and Brooke LLP is a nationally recognized trial firm with one of the largest product liability practices in the country.
The Bowman and Brooke Foundation is a non-profit corporation dedicated to charitable contributions and other financial support of community service activities aligned with the goals of the firm’s partners, employees and clients.
The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.
Applicants to the Bowman and Brooke Future Defense Lawyer Scholarship must:
Bowman and Brooke LLP employees and their immediate family members (spouses and dependents) are ineligible.
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $10,000 award. Up to two (2) award recipients will be selected. Awards are one use time only. Past recipients may not reapply. Recipients may be offered internships during pursuit of their law degree and/or career opportunities with Bowman and Brooke LLP upon graduation.
Awards are for graduate study at an ABA accredited law school only.
All applicants will be notified in April.

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Bowman and Brooke Foundation. Payments are scheduled to be made in August.
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:
Financial need is not considered. Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Bowman and Brooke Foundation play a part in the selection. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
