Avnet Scholarship Program
The Avnet Scholarship Program was established to recognize the achievements of and support children and spouses of Avnet employees who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs. (Only children and spouses of employees in the U.S. and Canada are eligible.)
Avnet Scholarship Program
The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.
Eligibility
Applicants to the Avnet Scholarship Program must be:
- Children* (up to age 24) or spouses of Avnet employees in the U.S. and Canada who are scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week and who have a minimum of three months employment with the company as of the application deadline date.
*Children are defined as natural born or adopted, stepchildren or children for whom the Avnet employee has been appointed legal guardian or been given legal custody.
- High school seniors or graduates, or current postsecondary undergraduates, who plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school.
Awards
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive an award ranging from $500 to $2,500 for each year of full-time study, depending on financial need. One-time honorariums at the minimum $500 level will be awarded to students who show outstanding potential but have no financial need or who do not complete the financial data section of the application. Awards are paid in U.S. currency.
Awards are for undergraduate study only. Other than the one-time honorariums, awards are renewable up to three years or upon attainment of a bachelor’s degree, whichever occurs first, on the basis of satisfactory academic performance, continued full-time enrollment and continued employment of the parent or spouse at Avnet.
Selection of Recipients
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:
- Academic record
- Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
- Work experience
- A statement of educational and career goals and objectives
- Unusual personal or family circumstances
Once scholarship recipients are selected, financial need is assessed to determine the amount of each award.
Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Avnet play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
Notification
Applicants will be notified in May whether or not they have been selected to receive a scholarship.
Notifications are sent via email. When setting up your account, avoid using a school or work email. Instead, use an active, personal email address that you will continue to have access to.

Payment of Scholarships
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Avnet. Payments are made in one installment in early August.
Requirements
As part of your application, you must upload the following document:
- A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display:
- Student name
- School name
- Grades
- Credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.
NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.
Your application is not considered complete unless all required documents are submitted electronically.
