As the school year gets back into gear, fall scholarship programs are starting to open—and today we’re featuring unique opportunities in the fields of healthcare and AI. The United Health Foundation’s Health Care Scholars United Scholarship provides awards to current and aspiring healthcare professionals across the United States looking to develop new skills. And the Prince George’s County (MD) Youth AI Mastery Scholarship helps juniors and seniors in public high schools in Prince George’s County, Maryland take the next steps to a fulfilling career.

United Health Foundation Health Care Scholars United Scholarship

Part of UnitedHealth Group’s commitment to help people live healthier lives and help make the health system work better for everyone is to help build the workforce of the future. The United Health Foundation, established by UnitedHealth Group in 1999, has funded scholarships for health care students since 2007. The Foundation’s commitment is expressed in part through the Health Care Scholars United Scholarship. The Health Care Scholars United program supports current and aspiring health professionals as they complete the final phase of their education and training to earn a certification or degree in a clinical health profession.

The Health Care Scholars United Scholarship is open to current or aspiring health professionals and will provide up to 325 awards of $3,200.

To apply, you must demonstrate financial need and be enrolled in full-time or part-time post-secondary study in an accredited program at the time of award distribution (November 2026). Eligible applicants must be enrolled in either an in-person or virtual program that is based in the United States and be on track to graduate by August 31, 2027. Priority will be given to students seeking careers in pharmacy, rural health, behavioral health, maternal health, or primary care.

Employees of UnitedHealth Group, UnitedHealthcare, Optum, or an organization acquired by UnitedHealth Group, and their immediate family members are not eligible for this scholarship. Current physicians who are seeking additional certificates or degrees are not eligible for this scholarship. Previous United Health Foundation scholarship recipients are also not eligible.

Prince George’s County (MD) Youth AI Mastery Scholarship

Pull Up Fund believes that the residents of Prince George’s County, Maryland are talented, innovative, and well-positioned to be the leaders of tomorrow. The organization’s work focuses on identifying and resourcing initiatives and organizations that offer catalytic opportunities for the community.

With the generous support of Pull Up Fund, Scholarship America is debuting a program for juniors and seniors in public high schools in Prince George’s County, Maryland. The Youth AI Mastery Scholarship will provide up to 170 successful applicants with $2,500 awards to apply to the costs of completing an Artificial Intelligence Foundations Online Certificate or Machine Learning Online Certificate program at University of Maryland Global Campus.
