SC State Federal Credit Union Teacher Grant Program
SC State Federal Credit Union has established a program for professional educators. The intent of the SC State Federal Credit Union Teacher Grant Program is to fund programs, training, and educational materials to enhance the classroom education experience, including educational field trips.
SC State Federal Credit Union Teacher Grant Program
The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.
Eligibility
Applicants to the SC State Federal Credit Union Teacher Grant Program must:

Be a middle or high school educator teaching for the upcoming academic year in a public school district in the SC State Federal Credit Union service area* (School must be a middle school or high school building).
*If selected to receive a grant, the teacher’s employment and project must be verified by the principal, superintendent, or other school official.

Plan to implement a project that enhances student learning beyond the classroom education experience.**
**Teachers applying collaboratively for a project may only submit a single grant application to be completed by the lead teacher.

Be a current member in good standing, or planning to become a member, of the SC State Federal Credit Union.
SC State Federal Credit Union staff and their immediate family members are not eligible to apply.
Grants
Grants will be up to $500 dollars, based on the requested budget.
Grants must be used within the academic year in which it is awarded or it will be forfeited.
Application Process
To start an application, all users will be required to create a Profile. Because most applications on our platform are for college scholarships, the Profile includes some required fields related to high school or college enrollment. In the case of this program, grant applicants should use accurate information for all applicable questions. For questions that are not relevant (i.e. ‘Next Year in School’ or ‘College Major’), you may enter placeholder information. While these questions are required for the Profile setup, these responses will not be used in the review or processing of your application.
Notification
All applicants will be notified in November
Notifications are sent via email. When setting up your account, avoid using a school or work email. Instead, use an active, personal email address that you will continue to have access to.
Payment of Scholarships
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of SC State Federal Credit Union.
Selection of Recipients
Grant proposals are evaluated on project objectives, project innovation and design, evaluation method, and estimated budget for the project.
Selection of grant recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of SC State Federal Credit Union play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
