Wells Fargo Stacey Milbern Scholarship

Since 2017, Wells Fargo has proudly partnered with Scholarship America to award 286 renewable scholarships to students with disabilities, opening doors to new opportunities and fostering greater accessibility for all. In 2024, Wells Fargo named their scholarship program for students with disabilities “The Stacey Milbern Scholarship,” honoring Stacey Park Milbern, a Korean American disability justice activist, who helped create the disability justice movement and advocated for fair treatment of disabled people.

Milbern, a member of the Wells Fargo Diverse Abilities leadership team, died in 2020, leaving behind a rich legacy of activism. In 2025, Milbern’s image appeared on the U.S. quarter as part of the American Women Quarters Program.

Scholarship America recognized the impact of the Wells Fargo Stacey Milbern Scholarship by awarding Wells Fargo one of eight Irving Innovation Awards in November 2024. Named for Dr. Irving Fradkin, the founder of the organization that became Scholarship America, these awards celebrate organizations that are creating unique and powerful educational opportunities through their scholarships.

Andrew Holbrook, Chief Accessibility Officer at Wells Fargo, accepted the award on behalf of the organization. Holbrook continues to look to Milbern’s example to guide his work. “When thinking about accessibility and disability inclusion I often ask myself, ‘What would Stacey do?’” he says.

The 2026 Wells Fargo Stacey Milbern Scholarship is open to high school seniors, high school graduates and current postsecondary undergraduates who have an identified disability and who plan to enroll in full-time or half-time (at least 6 credits per term) undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university for the entire upcoming academic year. Applicants must also be United States citizens or legal residents and have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or its equivalent.

Applications are open through March 20. The application will close after 700 applications are received. Apply Now >

Lola G. Duff and William H. Duff, II Scholarship Program

High school seniors and graduates from Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, can earn renewable scholarships up to $15,000 per academic year from the Lola G. Duff and William H. Duff, II Scholarship Program, open now for applications.

To apply, you must have attended at least two academic years, and graduated from, a high school or home school in Allegheny County, and plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study next academic year at an accredited four-year college or university. You must be pursuing an initial bachelor’s degree; finally, you’ll have to get an online recommendation and submit a letter from a clergyperson verifying that you are of the Protestant faith.

Two different types of awards are available through this program: financial need-based awards (which consider your family’s expected financial contribution to your education) and merit-based awards (which consider only your academic achievement). You can receive both types of awards in the same year, but you will have to fill out separate applications for each. All of the requirements listed above apply to both types of awards, and there’s a slight difference in GPA requirement: need-based applicants require a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 and merit-based applicants a minimum of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

For students who demonstrate financial need, award amounts will range from $4,000 to $15,000. For merit-based applicants, award amounts are $6,000/year at public schools or $12,000/year at private schools. Both types of awards can be renewed for up to three additional years or until a bachelor’s degree is completed, whichever comes first, provided you continue to meet eligibility requirements.

If you’re from Allegheny County, PA, this is an excellent and unique opportunity for a generous award!

PNC employees or Trust committee members, their immediate family members, and members of their households are not eligible to apply.

Applications are open through March 4, 2026 at 3:00pm CT. Apply Now >
