Parent Booster USA Scholarship Program

Parent Booster USA has established a scholarship program to assist high school seniors and high school graduates who are associated with a Parent Booster USA member organization and plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.

Parent Booster USA Scholarship Program

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Eligibility

Applicants to the Parent Booster USA Scholarship Program must meet all of the following:

  • Be associated with a Parent Booster USA member organization*
    *Must provide Parent Booster USA member organization ID number
  • Be high school seniors or high school graduates (who have graduated within one year) who are not currently enrolled in higher education. Students who have taken PSEO courses during high school are eligible to apply
  • Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year
  • Have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent)

Children of officers, executives, and members of Parent Booster USA are ineligible.

Awards

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $2,500 award. Up to 25 awards will be granted.

Recipients attending a four-year college: Awards are renewable for up to three additional years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first, on the basis of satisfactory academic performance (maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale) and full-time enrollment.

Recipients attending a two-year college or vocational-technical school: Awards are renewable for one additional year or until a degree is earned, whichever occurs first, on the basis of satisfactory academic performance (maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale) and full-time enrollment.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Awards can be used for any education-related expenses.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in July.

Notifications are sent via email. When setting up your account, avoid using a school or work email. Instead, use an active, personal email address that you will continue to have access to.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Parent Booster USA. Payment is made in late August.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic performance
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • A statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances
  • An online recommendation

Financial need, as calculated by Scholarship America, must be demonstrated for the student to receive an award.

Preference will be given to first-generation* college students.
*First-generation students are students whose parents or guardians have not completed a 4-year college degree or higher.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Parent Booster USA play a part in the selection. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Requirements

As part of your application, you must provide the following:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades attached as a document upload. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display:
    • Student name
    • School name
    • Grades
    • Credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.
  • NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.

  • Parent Booster USA member organization ID number

One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than three business days after the application deadline date.

Your application is not complete unless all required materials are submitted electronically.
