General Dynamics Information Technology Scholarship Program
General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) has established a scholarship program to assist children of GDIT employees who plan to pursue an undergraduate degree in science, technology, engineering or business at an accredited four-year college or university for the upcoming school year.
General Dynamics Information Technology Scholarship Program
The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.
Eligibility
Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
- Applicants must be dependent* children, under age 24, of active full-time or part-time GDIT organizations and all managed affiliates regularly scheduled to work at least 30 hours per week and who have a minimum of one year of employment with the company as of the application deadline date.
*Dependent children are defined as natural or legally adopted children or stepchildren living in the employee’s household or primarily supported by the employee. - Applicants must be high school seniors or graduates who plan to pursue a degree in science, technology, engineering, or business. Priority will be placed on STEM majors with a particular emphasis on Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, and Software Development.
- Applicants must enroll or already be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited four-year college or university in the US for the entire upcoming academic year.
- Scholarship recipients will be selected based on the following criteria: academic performance, leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, statement of educational and career aspirations and goals, and an online recommendation.
Note: The recommender for the GDIT scholarship cannot be a relative or anyone related to the student. Children of the leadership team who report directly to the President/CEO are not eligible to apply for a scholarship.
Award Amounts
Up to six (6) awards will be granted, and distributed as follows:
- Two (2) awards of $10,000 each will be granted to the top two ranked students.
- Four (4) awards of $2,500 each will be granted to the next ranked students.
Awards are not renewable, however, students may reapply each year they meet eligibility requirements. A student may receive an award a maximum of two times.
The GDIT parent must be actively employed at the time of scholarship payments.
Awards are for undergraduate study only.
Selection of Recipients
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:
- Academic information
- Leadership and participation in school and community activities
- Work experience
- A statement of educational and career goals and objectives
- Unusual personal or family circumstances
- An online recommendation.
Financial need will not be considered.
Notification
Applicants will be notified in mid June.
Notifications are sent via email. When setting up your account, avoid using a school or work email. Instead, use an active, personal email address that you will continue to have access to.

Payment of Scholarships
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of the GDIT. Payments are made in early August.
Requirements
As part of your application, you must upload the following:
- A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display:
- Student name
- School name
- Grades
- Credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.
NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.
One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than May 6, 2026 at 3:00 PM Central Time.
Your application is not considered complete unless all required documents are submitted electronically.
