Hunt Military Communities Foundation Scholarship Program

Hunt Military Communities Foundation has established a scholarship program to assist active duty service members, National Guard or Reservists of one of the five branches of the United States Armed Services or their dependents who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs. Service members of all ages, as well as their dependents and/or spouses, are encouraged to apply; whether they are returning to school or just beginning their post-secondary studies.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Eligibility

Applicants to the Hunt Military Communities Foundation Scholarship Program must be:

  • An active duty service member, National Guard or Reservist of one of the six branches of the United States armed services (Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard, or Space Force) and prepared to provide current military identification to Sponsor if selected as a recipient

OR

  • A dependent* of an active duty service member

AND

  • A high school senior or high school graduate, or a current undergraduate, who plans to enroll in full-time** undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical or trade school for the entire upcoming academic year.

**Dependent children are defined as natural and legally adopted children or stepchildren living in the employee’s household or primarily supported by the employee. You must be prepared to provide documentation of dependent status to Hunt Military Communities Foundation if selected as a recipient by providing (a) birth certificate; (b) custody or guardianship order from a court with authority; and/or (c) marriage certificate.

**Active duty service members who are studying part-time are eligible to receive an award.

Awards

The authorized distribution for new Awards will be $75,000. Up to 20 awards will be granted as follows:

  • Ten $5,000 awards for students attending 4-year colleges or universities.
  • Ten $2,500 awards for students attending 2-year colleges or universities, or vocational-technical students

If not enough eligible 2-year or vocational-technical students apply, the remaining funds will be distributed to the next-highest ranking 4-year undergraduate students.

Scholarship funds totaling $25,000 will be reserved for residents of Hunt Military Communities, provided enough eligible applicants apply. If not enough eligible applicants apply, the remaining funds will be distributed to other qualified applicants.

Awards are for undergraduate and vocational-technical programs or certificates study only.

Service members must be active duty as of June of the scholarship year in order to receive payment.

Please make sure to add studentsupport@scholarshipamerica.org as well as the program email address as safe senders in your email contact list.

Payment of Scholarships
