The Sub-Zero Group Scholarship Program

As a tribute to Walter Wiest for his 36 years of contributions to the organization’s success, Sub-Zero Group, Inc. established a scholarship program to assist employees’ children who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs. Four (4) renewable scholarships will be offered each year for full-time study at an accredited institution of the student’s choice.

As a tribute to Glenn Dillard for his contributions to the organization relative to safety, environmental health, and employee training, the company established one (1) additional scholarship in 2013.

Ed Murphy, who retired as the company’s Vice President of Finance at the end of 2015 with 20 years of service, offered to provide funding for one (1) additional scholarship starting in 2016.

Steve Dunlap, who retired as the company’s Vice President of Sales at the end of 2016 with 25 years of service, offered to provide funding for one (1) additional scholarship starting in 2017.

Robert Schroeder, who retired as the company’s Vice President of Quality, Reliability & Customer Service at the end of 2023 with 23 years of service, offered to provide funding for one (1) additional scholarship starting in 2024.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.
