Sargent & Lundy Centennial Scholarship Program

On January 2, 1991, Sargent & Lundy, established a Centennial Scholarship Program (CSP). This program was created to recognize the accomplishments of our employees’ children, encouraging them to further their education and assisting them in financing their education.

Sargent & Lundy Centennial Scholarship Program

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Eligibility

Applicants to the Sargent & Lundy Centennial Scholarship Program must be:

  • Children* age 26 and under, of full-time regular Sargent & Lundy employees as of the application deadline date.
    *The word children is defined as natural, adopted, or stepchildren or wards of the employee.
  • High school seniors or graduates, or current postsecondary undergraduates, who plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.
    • Students graduating mid-year may apply; however, the award will be one-half of the full-time award.
  • Must have a 2.5 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 cumulative grade point average scale (C+ or 84% on the U.S. percentage scale; 69% on the Canadian percentage scale.)

Awards

New awards will be dependent on the number of applications received. Awards of $4,000 each will be granted to all eligible applicants and awards of $2,000 for students graduating mid-year. Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Awards are for undergraduate study only. Scholarships may be used for any course of study.

Awards can be used for any education-related expenses. Awards will be paid to the school and a 1099 form will be issued to the student.

All information received is considered confidential and is reviewed only by Scholarship America.

Notification

Applicants will be notified in late-April. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Notifications are sent via email. When setting up your account, avoid using a school or work email. Instead, use an active, personal email address that you will continue to have access to.

Please make sure to add studentsupport@scholarshipamerica.org as well as the program email address as safe senders in your email contact list.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Sargent & Lundy. Payment is made in one installment in early August. Checks are mailed to each recipient’s home address and are made payable to the school for the student to present.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship America will verify eligibility requirements for all applicants. Eligible applicants will be approved for education assistance awards.

Requirements

As part of your application, you must upload the following:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display:
    • Student name
    • School name
    • Grades
    • Credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.

Your application is not complete unless all required materials are submitted electronically.
