Avery Dennison US and Canada Children of Employees Scholarship Program

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Eligibility

Applicants to the Avery Dennison US and Canada Children of Employees Scholarship Program must:

  • Be children (natural, legally adopted, or stepchildren), age 23 and under, of full-time Avery Dennison employees* who have a minimum of one year of employment with the company as of the application deadline date. Applicants who have received a scholarship from this Program prior to the start of this current Program cycle shall not be required to meet eligibility requirements concerning any employment with the Sponsor.
*Retired employees’ children are eligible as long as the retired employee was employed full-time at the time of retirement.
  • Be high school seniors or graduates or current college undergraduates.
  • Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school in the United States or Canada for the entire upcoming academic year.

Children of officers of Avery Dennison are ineligible.

Awards

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive $2,000.

Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • A statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances
  • An online recommendation

Financial need, as calculated by Scholarship America, must be demonstrated for the student to receive an award.

An essay will be required with the application but will not be used in the selection process. The essay will be shared with Avery Dennison Foundation.

Recipients will be selected to represent a cross section of Avery Dennison employees both geographically and employee levels (i.e. hourly and salaried).

Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Avery Dennison play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in early May via the same email used in the original application.

Notifications are sent via email. When setting up your account, avoid using a school or work email. Instead, use an active, personal email address that you will continue to have access to.

Please make sure to add studentsupport@scholarshipamerica.org as well as the program email address as safe senders in your email contact list.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of the Avery Dennison Foundation. Payment is made in August.
