RoNetco Supermarkets Scholarship Program

RoNetco Supermarkets, Inc. has established a scholarship program to encourage associates, their children, and grandchildren to continue their education in college or vocational school programs and reward academic excellence in their efforts. Scholarships are offered each year for full- or part-time study at an accredited institution of the student’s choice.

RoNetco Supermarkets Scholarship Program

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Eligibility

Applicants of the RoNetco Supermarkets Scholarship Program must be:

  • Full-time or part-time associates of RoNetco, or its affiliated companies, who have a minimum of three months of service with the company as of the application deadline date;

OR

  • Children*, between the ages of 16 and 26, of full-time or part-time associates of RoNetco, or its affiliated companies, who have a minimum of three months of service with the company as of the application deadline date

OR

  • Grandchildren, between the ages of 16 and 26, of full-time or part-time associates of RoNetco, or its affiliated companies, who have a minimum of three months of service with the company as of the application deadline date;

AND

  • High school seniors or graduates who plan to enroll or students who are already enrolled in full-time or part-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.

Store Owners, Executive Committee and their families are not eligible.

*Children is defined as the son, daughter, stepchild, or legal ward, between the ages of 16 and 26, supported principally by the associate parent/guardian.

Awards

Up to fourteen (14) scholarships will be awarded:

RoNetco, or its Affiliated Companies, Associates:

  • One (1) $4,000 Pasquale T. Romano, Sr. Scholarship.
  • One (1) $3,000 Thomas and Vincenia Romano Scholarship.
  • Six  (6) $1,500 scholarships.

For Children of RoNetco, or its Affiliated Companies, Associates:

  • One (1) $5,000 Dominick V. Romano Scholarship.
  • Two (2) $1,500 Scholarships.

For Children and Grandchildren of RoNetco, or its Affiliated Companies, Associates:

  • One (1) $3,000 RoNetco Distinguished Achievement Scholarship.
  • Two (2) $1,500 Scholarships

Applicants that qualify for multiple pools, may only apply for one pool of awards. Scholarships are dependent upon continued employment with RoNetco, or its affiliated companies. Scholarships are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements. However, no student may receive a scholarship more than six (6) times.  Scholarships are for undergraduate study only.

Notification

Applicants will be notified in April. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.

Notifications are sent via email. When setting up your account, avoid using a school or work email. Instead, use an active, personal email address that you will continue to have access to.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of RoNetco Supermarkets, Inc. Payments are made in equal installments in August and January.

Associates must be employed by RoNetco, or its affiliated companies, at the time scholarships are announced in April. If the associate is no longer employed with RoNetco, or its affiliated companies, at the time scholarships are announced, the scholarship will be awarded to the next qualified applicant.

Continued RoNetco, or its affiliated companies, employment of associates will be verified in August and December before payment of the scholarship. If the continuing employment requirement is not met, the scholarship will be withdrawn and no payment will be made.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic performance
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Honors
  • Work experience
  • Statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances
  • An online recommendation

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or associate of RoNetco Supermarkets, Inc. play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Requirements

As part of your application, you must upload the following:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display:
    • Student name
    • School name
    • Grades
    • Credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.

NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.

One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than March 6, 2026 3:00 PM Central Time.

Your application is not complete unless all required materials are submitted electronically.
