The George A. Hansen Scholarship Program for Children of Intuit Employees

This scholarship is intended as a memorial for George A. Hansen, an Intuit employee for 19 years. His parents, Luisa and William Hansen, have established a scholarship program to assist employees’ children who plan to continue their education in college to pursue a college degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering. Students enrolled in full-time study at an accredited institution of the student’s choice qualify for $6,000 in funding.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Eligibility

Applicants to the Program must be children or direct dependents, age 23 and under, of regular full-time Intuit employees (in any country) who have a minimum of one year of employment with the company as of the application deadline and both of the following:

  • Be a high school senior/student in their final year of upper or higher secondary school/CEGEP or a high school/CEGEP graduate or be a current postsecondary undergraduate or graduate student.
  • Plan to enroll in a full-time undergraduate or graduate study and pursue a degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering at an accredited four-year college or university for the entire upcoming academic year. Students must confirm their major at the time of acceptance of the award.

Children of the President and Chairman are not eligible.

Awards

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $6,000 award.  Up to three (3) awards will be granted.

Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Award amounts are listed in U.S. dollars (USD) and award payments will be issued in USD. Recipients may choose to receive award payments in their local currency when available.

Applicants may receive an award from both The George A. Hansen Scholarship Program for Children of Intuit Employees and The Scott Cook and Signe Ostby Scholarship Program for Children of Intuit Employees in the same year.
