SKECHERS Foundation has established a scholarship program to assist high school seniors who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.

SKECHERS Foundation Scholarship

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Eligibility

Applicants to the SKECHERS Foundation Scholarship must:

  • Be high school seniors in good standing with their current high school.
  • Be planning to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational/technical school or nursing school in the upcoming academic year.
  • Have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent) at the end of their junior year of high school.
  • Be United States citizens.

Applicants may apply for one of the following awards:

SKECHERS Financial Hardship Scholarship:
This scholarship will be awarded to a student with great need for financial assistance. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide financial assistance to an outstanding student with a strong interest in and desire to continue their education in any field of their choosing. The scholarship can help cover the cost of room and board, tuition, books and incidental fees. An online recommendation must be submitted. Recommenders are people who can provide information on your behalf about your skills, strengths and goals (for example, a school counselor, supervisor at a job, professor/teacher, coach or mentor). Financial need will be considered.

SKECHERS Academic Excellence Scholarship:
This scholarship will be awarded to academically outstanding students who plan to attend a two- or four-year college, university, or vocational/trade school. This scholarship is specifically designed for students with strong academic records who have excelled in all subjects, and are seeking enriched academic opportunities while continuing their education. SKECHERS Academic Excellence Scholars will have a strong history of academic success with a diverse set of interests and skills. An online recommendation by a high school principal or counselor is required. Financial need will be considered.

SKECHERS Athletic Performance Scholarship:
This scholarship will be awarded to exemplary leaders and performers on their sports teams, in the classroom, and in their communities. The SKECHERS Athletic Performance Scholarship exists to help phenomenal student athletes pursue their dreams of continuing their education. Playing the sport in college is required to receive this scholarship. An online recommendation by the applicant’s coach is required. Financial need will be considered.

SKECHERS Promising Leaders Scholarship:
This scholarship will be awarded to a student who has taken on a leadership role within their school, community, club, or sports team. The SKECHERS Promising Leaders Scholarship will be awarded to the student who demonstrates phenomenal skills motivating others and a commitment to bettering the world. An online recommendation by a supervisor or mentor of an organization where the leadership position was held is required (i.e. principal, coach, or supervisor). Financial need will be considered.

Awards are one-time only.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • Statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances
  • An online recommendation

Financial need will be considered.

SKECHERS Foundation will determine recipients from Scholarship America’s recommendation, as well as determine number of scholarships and amounts to be distributed from the recommended pool of finalists.

Notification

Applicants will be notified in June.

Notifications are sent via email. When setting up your account, avoid using a school or work email. Instead, use an active, personal email address that you will continue to have access to.

Please make sure to add studentsupport@scholarshipamerica.org as well as the program email address as safe senders in your email contact list.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of SKECHERS Foundation. Payments are made in one installment in early August.

Requirements

As part of your application, you must upload the following document(s):

A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Unofficial or online transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.

NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.

Applicants applying for one of the following scholarships must have a recommendation submitted on your behalf:

A recommender cannot be related to you

  • SKECHERS Financial Hardship Scholarship: An online recommendation. Recommenders are people who can provide information on your behalf about your skills, strengths and goals (for example, a school counselor, supervisor at a job, professor/teacher, coach or mentor).
  • SKECHERS Academic Excellence Scholarship: An online recommendation by a high school principal or counselor is required.
  • SKECHERS Athletic Performance Scholarship: An online recommendation by the applicant’s coach is required.
  • SKECHERS Promising Leaders Scholarship: An online recommendation from a supervisor or mentor of an organization where the leadership position was held is required (i.e. principal, coach, or supervisor).

The online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than March 24, 2026 at 3:00 PM Central Time.

Your application is not complete unless all required documents are submitted electronically through the Scholarship America Student Hub.
