SAS Scholars Program

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for the SAS Scholars Program, applicants must be:

  • Dependent* children, up to the age of 23, of active full-time or regular part-time US employees of SAS or its subsidiaries who have a minimum of one year continuous employment with the company as of the application deadline.*Dependent children are defined as biological and legally adopted children, stepchildren, or children of domestic partners (signed affidavit required).
  • Current high school seniors or graduates who plan to enroll, or students who are already enrolled, in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited four-year college or university for the entire upcoming academic year.

Awards

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $3,750 award. Up to 5 new awards will be granted.

The awards may be renewed for up to 3 additional years until a bachelor’s degree is earned. Renewal is contingent upon satisfactory academic performance in a full-time course of study, continued employment of the student’s parent at SAS at the time awards are disbursed, and continuation of the program by SAS.

Awards are for undergraduate study only, and are for qualified education-related expenses: tuition, fees, books and required supplies/equipment.

Notification

Applicants will be notified in mid-May. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Notifications are sent via email. When setting up your account, avoid using a school or work email. Instead, use an active, personal email address that you will continue to have access to.

Please make sure to add studentsupport@scholarshipamerica.org as well as the program email address as safe senders in your email contact list.
