The Brothers Scholarship Program

The Fehsenfeld Family is pleased to announce the Brothers Scholarship Program for the 2025-2026 academic year. The purpose of the program is to assist the children of Heritage employees with the cost of higher education and to encourage those students to invest in their future by obtaining a college degree. Renewable scholarships are offered each year for full-time study at an accredited institution of the student’s choice.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Eligibility

Applicants to The Brothers Scholarship Program must be:

    • Dependent* children, age 24 and under, of full-time Heritage Group employees with at least 6 months tenure prior to the application deadline date.
*Dependent children are defined as natural and legally adopted children or stepchildren living in the employee’s household or primarily supported by the employee.
    • High school seniors, graduates, or GED holders who plan to enroll or students who are already enrolled in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university for the entire upcoming academic year.
  • Dependent children of company officers are not eligible. Also, dependent children of employees with gross annualized base salary of $155,000 (not including bonuses or other incentives) are not eligible.

Award Information

  • If selected as a recipient, the student will receive an award of $2,000.
  • Awards may be renewed for up to three additional years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first.
  • Renewal is contingent upon satisfactory academic performance (maintenance of a 2.5 cumulative grade point average of a 4.0 scale), full-time enrollment, and continuation of the program by The Heritage Group Scholarship Fund.

The number of awards granted will be geographically proportionate to the number of applications received from each state, provided qualified applications are received.

No more than two scholarships per family will be awarded each year.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • Statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances
  • Financial need

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of The Heritage Group play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Notification

Applicants will be notified in early June. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Notifications are sent via email. When setting up your account, avoid using a school or work email. Instead, use an active, personal email address that you will continue to have access to.

Please make sure to add studentsupport@scholarshipamerica.org as well as the program email address as safe senders in your email contact list.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes The Brothers Scholarship payments on behalf of The Heritage Group Scholarship Fund. Payments are made in one installment in early August.

Scholarship Awards must be used during the 2025-2026 academic year. No deferral requests will be approved.
