The Guild Giving National Scholarship was established for current undergraduate students, college graduates, or current graduate students pursuing a degree full-time in a collegiate program at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school.

The Guild Giving National Scholarship

Guild Giving Foundation has established a scholarship to assist students who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs. Continuing their mission to support education and financial literacy, the Guild Giving Foundation has partnered with Scholarship America®, to annually award up to 10 higher education students with scholarships of $1,500 each.

This scholarship is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual program is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to The Guild Giving National Scholarship must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Be a United States citizen or national.
  • Have a minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale if applying as a four-year college student
  • Be a high school senior or graduate, postsecondary undergraduate, or graduate student enrolled full-time in a collegiate program at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.

Applicants residing in New York are not eligible to apply.

Awards

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive $1,500. Up to ten (10) awards will be granted. All recipients will be asked to provide sponsor with video note of appreciation.

Awards are not renewable; however, students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Awards are for undergraduate and graduate study.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in June.

Notifications are sent via email. When setting up your account, avoid using a school or work email. Instead, use an active, personal email address that you will continue to have access to.

Please make sure to add studentsupport@scholarshipamerica.org as well as the program email address as safe senders in your email contact list.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Guild Giving Foundation. Payment is made in one installment in August.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of

  • Academic performance
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • A statement of career and educational goals and objectives
  • Two essays addressing the following prompts:
    • 1. Describe a time when you demonstrated leadership within your community and actively contributed to public service initiatives.
    • 2. Describe a specific experience where you have made a meaningful impact on or demonstrated a commitment to supporting underrepresented communities. What motivated you to take action, and how has this experience shaped your perspective and future commitment to advocacy or support for these communities?

Financial need is not a consideration.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Guild Giving Foundation play a part in the selection.

Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Requirements

As part of your application, you must upload the following:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display:
    • Student name
    • School name
    • Grades
    • Credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.

NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.

Your application is not complete unless all required materials are submitted electronically.
