SNC’s mission is to safeguard our freedom and inspire the next generation to make a lasting impact through technology and imagination. The SNC STEM scholarship aims to support and empower students pursuing degrees in STEM-related fields.
SNC’s mission is to safeguard our freedom and inspire the next generation to make a lasting impact through technology and imagination. The SNC STEM scholarship aims to support and empower students pursuing degrees in STEM-related fields. Now in its fourth year, SNC will again award five $7,500 scholarship awards to eligible students. Each scholarship recipient will also be matched with an SNC mentor to support them on their STEM journey.
Applicants must be current high school seniors, college undergraduates or graduate level students pursuing a degree and career in a non-medical, STEM-related field. Applicants must plan to enroll in part-time or full-time undergraduate or graduate study at an accredited four-year college or university for the entire upcoming academic year and have a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent).
The scholarship is funded through the Ozmen Foundation at the Community Foundation of Northern Nevada (CFNN)
The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $7,500 award. Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.
Awards are for undergraduate and graduate study only.
All applicants will be notified in late March.
Notifications are sent via email. When setting up your account, avoid using a school or work email. Instead, use an active, personal email address that you will continue to have access to.

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of SNC. Payment is made in August.
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:
Financial need, as calculated by Scholarship America, must be demonstrated for the student to receive an award.
Scholarship America will select finalists, and a Sponsor committee will select recipients.
All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.
One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than January 16, 2026 3:00 PM Central Time.
