UMB Count-on-More Scholarship Program

UMB Financial Corporation (“UMBF”) Charitable Foundation (the “Foundation”) has established the UMB Count-on-More Scholarship Program to assist children of UMBF’s associates who plan to continue their education in college, vocational or technical school programs. Scholarships are offered for full-time study at an accredited institution of the student’s choice for the upcoming school year.

UMB Count-on-More Scholarship Program

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Eligibility

Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Be dependent, unmarried children, or grandchildren, age 24 and under, of associates of UMBF (including all of its affiliates and subsidiaries), who are at least part-time employees, working 20+ hours per week and health benefit eligible. The UMBF associate must have a minimum of one (1) year of employment with UMBF and be in good standing as of the application deadline date.
  • Be high school seniors or graduates or current college undergraduates.
  • Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.
  • Annual Family Gross Income may not exceed $300,000.

Dependent children of any Officer or Director of the Foundation or any Executive Committee member of UMBF (including all of its affiliates and subsidiaries) are not eligible to apply.

Awards

Up to ten awards of $8,000 each will be granted, provided there are qualified applicants.

The program will be administered in full compliance with IRS Revenue Procedure 76-47.

Awards are renewable up to three consecutive years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first, on the basis of satisfactory academic performance (maintaining a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale).

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Notification

Applicants will be notified in April.

Notifications are sent via email. When setting up your account, avoid using a school or work email. Instead, use an active, personal email address that you will continue to have access to.

Please make sure to add studentsupport@scholarshipamerica.org as well as the program email address as safe senders in your email contact list.

Payment of Scholarships

Payments are made in one installment in early August.

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of the UMB Financial Corporation Charitable Foundation.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • Statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances
  • An online recommendation

Financial need, as calculated by Scholarship America, will be considered. Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of UMB Financial Corporation Charitable Foundation play a part in the selection. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Requirements

As part of your application, you must upload the following:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.

    NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload an official copy of those test scores separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.

One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than March 6, 2026 at 3:00 PM Central Time.

Your application is not complete unless all required materials are submitted electronically.
