Andreas Heiberg Scholarship

Photo of Andreas Heiberg

Andreas Heiberg was born and raised in a small town in southern Norway. In the 1960’s he came to the US as a bright young mechanical engineering graduate. Shortly thereafter he became involved in logistics planning and quickly became a respected name in polar research and exploration. Known for his intellect, Andreas was also a skilled woodworker. He was often called upon by his family to build or fix. Always eager for a challenge, he never ceased to amaze with his abilities. Andreas was a humble man, with great patience and an easy-going personality. He passed away in 2021 after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. Andreas was proud of his family, his heritage, and his career. This scholarship was established by his family to celebrate his life and enthusiasm for learning. Andreas would be gratified knowing he is helping deserving students continue their education

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals.
