Veteran Scholarship for Educators
Do you want to work in a K-12 environment? The Veteran Scholarship for Educators provides financial assistance to veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces who are pursuing a career in K-12 education or counseling.
Applicants must be honorably discharged veterans of an eligible branch of service* who are pursuing degree in an eligible field (including career and technical education certification, teaching, education, counseling, psychology, and social work) and who plan to become licensed employees within a K-12 school system.
Applicants must also be high school or GED graduates, current post-secondary undergraduates or graduate level one students who plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate- or graduate study for an associate’s, bachelor’s or master’s degree at an accredited two- or four- year college or university or vocational-technical school for the entire academic year, and must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale.
Recipients attending two-year/vocational-technical schools will earn awards of $5,000, and recipients attending four-year institutions will earn $10,000 awards. Financial need will be considered, and awards are renewable up to four years or until a bachelor’s or master’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first, on the basis of satisfactory academic performance and fulltime enrollment in an eligible field of study.
