Chemours Future of Chemistry Scholarship
Chemours has pledged to invest $50 million in the communities in which it operates by 2030 to improve lives through increased access to STEM skills, safety initiatives, and sustainable environment programs. As part of that pledge, the Chemours Future of Chemistry Scholarship was established in 2018 to provide scholarships to talented, high-potential high school students who reside in the Greater Wilmington, Delaware area and plan to study science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
For the 2022-23 program, up to five, four-year scholarships will be awarded—totaling $40,000 each. Applicants must be high school seniors, recent graduates, or current college undergraduates who live or attend high school in the Greater Wilmington, Delaware area. Applicants must also plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study in a field associated with STEM, mechanical integrity and quality assurance (MIQA), or technical/operation manufacturing at an accredited HBCU for the entire 2022–2023 academic year.
Applicants are required to have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent). Awards are renewable up to three years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first, contingent upon continued enrollment and satisfactory academic performance.
