Mike Nylund, VP-Sales, Scholarship Management Services

Mike NylundMike Nylund joined Scholarship America in July 2013, bringing more than 20 years of professional experience in sales to our social enterprise.

Before coming to Scholarship America, Nylund held interim positions with Merrill Corporation, where he led a team of 150 people to provide consulting services to domestic and international clients. Prior to joining Merill Corporation, Nylund served as Director of Admissions at Regency Corporation, where he led various business projects related to admissions and financial aid processing.

Nylund is a graduate of Michigan State University and a former scholarship recipient. After graduating from college, Nylund worked as a sales executive and account manager for Black & Decker, Kohler Company, EVS, and Smurfit-Stone Container. He then moved to Capella University, where he worked in Financial Aid Operations, Customer Service and Compliance, working side by side with Sales, Marketing & New Product Development to ensure business goals were met while maintaining compliance with federal regulations. 

The Dream Award

Dream Award Scholarship America’s Dream Award is a new multi-year, performance-based scholarship fund targeted toward completion. These renewable, annually-increasing awards will be given to students selected from across the nation who are entering their second year of education beyond high school.
