Watch Saturday, December 10 on CBS and CBS Sports Network Starting at Noon EST.

Newark, NJ’s Prudential Center will host the inaugural Never Forget Tribute Classic, an annual NCAA men’s basketball doubleheader, on Saturday, December 10 featuring 2016 NCAA Men’s Champion Villanova vs. Notre Dame, followed by Pitt vs. Penn State. The event will partner with Scholarship America’s Families of Freedom Scholarship Fund, which helps support the education of children of the victims of the September 11 terrorist attacks.

CBS Sports will serve as the television home of the doubleheader, with Game 1 on CBS at noon, prior to the annual Army-Navy football game, and Game 2 on CBS Sports Network at approximately 2:30 p.m. Both games will be available on CBS Sports Radio. For more information on the broadcast and tickets, visit and follow @PruCenter using #NFTC2016.

Established within one week of September 11, 2001, the Families of Freedom Scholarship Fund provides education assistance for postsecondary study to financially needy dependents of the people killed or permanently disabled in the terrorist attacks. The Fund has already delivered millions of dollars in scholarship support, and will continue to offer education assistance through the year 2030, ultimately delivering more than $100 million to affected family members.

“We’re honored to be a part of the inaugural 2016 Never Forget Tribute Classic. To participate in an event that raises scholarship funds for the victims of the September 11 attacks means so much to our program and University,” said Villanova head coach Jay Wright. “We’re also excited to compete against an outstanding Notre Dame program. We enjoyed a lot of great battles with Coach Brey’s teams, beginning when we were both in America East, and more recently in the Big East. It should be a great day of basketball.”

2015 American Idol finalist and New Jersey native Jax will sing the national anthem to open the doubleheader.

The Never Forget Tribute Classic adds to CBS Sports’ in-depth coverage of college basketball across CBS and CBS Sports Network. The 2016-17 season marks CBS Sports’ 36th consecutive year broadcasting college basketball, including the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship. CBS Sports Network televises more than 225 games each year, showcasing top teams and match-ups from 19 different conferences.
