Equitable Excellence® Scholarship

The Equitable Excellence Scholarship® is celebrating 22 years of student support this year, and distributing $500,000 in new scholarships to students across the 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. In alignment with Equitable’s mission to help people achieve financial security so that they can face the future with confidence, the Equitable Excellence Scholarship® empowers students’ dreams so that they can continue to have positive impacts in their community.

To support students throughout their academic journeys, Equitable will award 100 annual scholarships of $5,000 each. Those scholarships will be renewed each academic year for up to four years, for a total of up to $20,000 per recipient. A $500 gift card grant will be awarded to each scholarship recipient’s teacher of choice for professional development or classroom supplies.

High-school students who demonstrate ambition and self-drive to be a force for good in their communities by encouraging others to pursue higher education can apply through December 18. All applicants must:

  • Demonstrate financial need
  • Be high school seniors planning to attend an accredited two-year or four-year college or university in the United States.
  • Reside in one of the 50 U.S. states, District of Columbia or Puerto Rico.

Since its launch in 2003, Equitable Excellence® has awarded over $30 million to approximately 7,300 students. Apply now to become part of the class of 2025!

Scholarship America Dream Award

The Scholarship America Dream Award is designed to help students keep moving toward a degree, by providing scholarships that stick with them for up to four total years. Current college undergraduates can earn renewable awards of up to $10,000 per year.

Dream Award Scholars include students like Jaden Banks, a Bay Area native whose childhood passion for Legos has seamlessly translated into his current pursuit of a degree in Civil Engineering at Southern University and A & M College. Raised in a single-parent household with four brothers, Jaden faced significant challenges, including a period of homelessness. As the first person in his family to earn a college degree, Jaden is proud to have defied expectations, not only achieving Dean’s List honors but playing varsity tennis and joining the National Society of Black Engineers.

To join Jaden and his fellow Dream Award Scholars, students must be at least 17 years old and must be planning to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school in the United States for the entire 2024-25 academic year. Applicants must be pursuing their first bachelor’s or associate’s degree and must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent).

Finally, applicants must be U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents (holders of a Permanent Resident Card), or individuals granted deferred action status under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Program (DACA).

Financial need will be considered in determining award amounts, and awards are renewable for up to three subsequent years or until a first bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever comes first.

Applications are open through December 6. Apply Now >
