Across the country, students are getting ready and returning to school—and the scholarship season is just starting to heat up as summer winds down. This month, we’re featuring a unique scholarship/internship hybrid for students of African heritage, as well as the opening of the Scholarship America Dream Award, designed to support students who have made it into college but who are struggling to pay for their second year and beyond. TE Connectivity African Heritage Scholarship
TE Connectivity is the go-to engineering partner for today’s innovation leaders and technology entrepreneurs, designing and manufacturing connectivity and sensor products for harsh environments across a variety of industries, enabling advancements in transportation, industrial applications, medical technology energy, data communications and more.

The African Heritage Scholarship offered by TE is more than just a scholarship check. Fourteen recipients will have the opportunity to participate in a paid internship with TE Connectivity during the summer of 2022 and will receive a scholarship up to $22,500 in the fall of 2022 upon completion of the internship. Plus, the award is renewable up to one year as long as a recipient has satisfactory academic performance and completion of the second summer internship.
Eligible applicants must be college sophomores who self-identify as Black or African American or multiracial*, and must be pursuing a degree in STEM, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Finance or Information Technology. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent), and must demonstrate financial need.
*Applicants who self-identify as more than one race/ethnicity are eligible as long as one of the races/ethnicities is Black or African American.

Scholarship America Dream Award
Getting into college is a huge achievement. The Scholarship America Dream Award is designed to help you keep moving toward your degree, by providing awards that stay with you.
Students who have completed at least a year of college can earn Dream Award scholarships of $5,000 to $15,000 per year, renewable for up to three years.
We believe in tearing down the barriers to a college degree — and that’s why the Dream Award is a scholarship open to all. Your ethnicity, family history, school access, gender, sexual orientation or immigration status should not be an impediment to attending college and pursuing your dreams. Our 2021 Dream Award Scholars come from all kinds of backgrounds and have all sorts of stories; if you’re in college now, you could join them in 2022.
If you’re at least 17, you have a U.S. high school diploma (or equivalent) and you have completed at least one year of college, trade or technical school, you’re invited to apply starting in August 2021. The Dream Award is open to U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents (holders of a Permanent Resident card), or individuals granted deferred action status under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program (DACA).
Our Dream Award Scholars have overcome incredible challenges ranging from family tragedies to physical struggles to systematic inequities.
